
Mover Useful Tips
1. Are your desks, cupboards, drawers emptied?
2. Are your supply cabinets cleared?
3. Are all wall items removed and labeled?
4. Are breakable items properly packed?
5. Are the carriages on your typewriter centred?
6. Are the equipment in your office disconnected?
7. Have you backed up computer data on disks?
8. Are your computer components properly disconnected & labelled?
9. Are all liquids drained from your equipment?
10. Are your desks and chairs labelled?
11. Are the furniture not to be moved clearly marked?
Have you done the following before your actual move?
1. Label all cartons with their basic contents and their designated rooms.
Each carton has to be sealed securely with packing tape and be sure all items are well padded and fit snugly in the carton or container.
2. Lampshades has to be packed in separate cartons.
3. Wrap dishes individually with paper or air-bubble materials.
4. Movable parts attached to appliances and stereos has to be secured properly or place these appliances into their original cartons.
5. Small appliances should be well padded and packed snugly in cartons. The weight of each carton should not exceed 20kg.
6. Freezer and refrigerator has to be defrosted, cleaned and deodorised prior to the move.
7. Drain garden hose, coil and collect ends. Tie or tape garden tools together.
8. Inventorise all your items for the move.
9. Discard, sell or give away things you won’t want to keep.
10. Return all library books and borrowed items.
11. Use or get rid of perishable items.
12. Go to any police post to effect change of address, and as their system is linked to all government bodies, your new address will be updated accordingly. In addition, you should notify your lawyer, doctor, magazine & newspaper distributor, bank & finance companies, credit & charge card companies, employer, friends, etc., about your change of address.
13. Arrange with relevant authorities to cut-off utilities and telephone lines.
14. Make arrangements for moving of your pets.
15. Generally, self packing will take about 2 weeks to complete. As such, start your packing as early as possible.
16. It is important to set aside essential items for easy access, eg. Medicine, clothing, infant food, pet-food, cheque books.
How do I get a quotation?
You may just call us at 2566 4799 or just submit completed Quotation Request form and our friendly customer service staff will arrange our surveyors to assess your removal needs.
How long does it take for a surveyor to survey all my items?
Usually, it will take about 15 minutes for our surveyor to note down the items for your move.
Is the quotation free?
The quotation is definitely free of charge and you are not obligated to give any reasons for not choosing us as your preferred mover. We do thank you for the opportunity in allowing us to present ourselves in person.
What if I decide to change my date of removal?
To avoid any cancellation or postponement charges, it is mandatory that you must give us at least 5 days of notice to change your confirmed date of move.
Is there extra cost for Saturday or Sunday moves?
There is no surcharge for any move from Monday to Sunday.
Do you provide cartons and packing materials?
We do provide cartons for your self packing. Other packing materials like bubble pack, newsprints and tapes are also sold at cost all will be delivered to your doorstep with a small delivery charge.
What is involved in the whole process of the removal service?
i. Firstly, customers will request to set an appointment for a quotation.
ii. The surveyor will do a site visit at customer’s place personally to do the quotation.
iii. Customers who are satisfied with the quotation will fax or email the confirmation to us.
iv. Expert Mover will acknowledge & activate the job for the workers on the date of removal.
v. Finally, the job will be completed smoothly and efficiently with 100% satisfaction!
Electronic Equipment, Computer, Hi-Fi, DVD, Radios and TVs: should be padded and boxed so that knobs are not broken off and the finish is not scratched. The drawers should be empty of all disks, as when they are re-started they may jam. Record players should have the turntable and playing arm secured. Box upright in carton well padded on all sides. Mark with and arrow pointing up and write UP on all sides. For console equipment, surround with furniture pads and then move and load upright.
ELECTRICAL/GAS SUPPLIES:You should arrange for these items to be disconnected from mains supply by an appropriate professional, prior to removal. Refer to the manufacturers instructions (check with local dealer).
